Critical Manufacturing Security Portal#
The Critical Manufacturing Security Portal is the multitenant identity management system that authenticates users for Critical Manufacturing MES and its installed applications. It can manage credentials internally or integrate with external identity providers, such as Microsoft Entra ID and Windows Active Directory, through authentication strategies. The Security Portal includes a set of strategies and supports additional strategies through customization.
Start with how the Security Portal works, then configure it and the strategies that users sign in with. The last topic lists the MES components that rely on the Security Portal:
- How the Security Portal Works - tenants, authentication flows, OAuth Roles, and token validation.
- Configuration - Security Portal configuration file, user interface protection, impact on MES operations, and SCIM provisioning.
- Strategies - available authentication strategies and their configuration.
- Integrations - MES components that authenticate through the Security Portal, including Grafana and reports.
The Security Portal covers authentication. What an authenticated user can do and see in MES depends on the authorization mechanisms described in Security.
