Mark Revision as Pilot and Mark Revision as Active#

🔒 EntityTypeName.MarkRevisionPilot

🔒 EntityTypeName.MarkRevisionActive

A Pilot revision can be selected and referenced by other objects, like an Active revision. For default selection, Active revisions with an Effective version take precedence. If none exists, the system selects the Pilot revision with an Effective version and the highest sequence.

This allows a revision imported from a Center of Excellence or another Customer Environment to be qualified locally without replacing an existing Active revision with an Effective version as the default.

For more information on the revision state model, see Revisions.

Mark Revision as Pilot#

To mark an Active revision as Pilot, open the versioned object and select Mark Revision as Pilot on the top ribbon. Optionally, enter a comment, and then select Pilot to complete the operation.

Info

Marking a revision as Pilot clears its Default From Date and Default To Date and recalculates the default revision. The Universal State of the revision and its versions remains unchanged. For more information, see Manage Default Revisions.

Mark Revision as Active#

To mark a Pilot revision as Active, open the versioned object and select Mark Revision as Active on the top ribbon. Optionally, enter a comment, and then select Active to complete the operation.

Info

Marking a revision as Active recalculates the default revision without modifying the Universal State of the revision or its versions. It does not restore the default dates cleared when the revision was marked as Pilot. For more information, see Manage Default Revisions.
