Clone IoT Consumer Definition#

IoTConsumerDefinition.Clone

Overview#

This operation is used to clone an existing IoT Consumer Definition into a new IoT Consumer Definition with a different name and identical characteristics.

Setup#

No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

Preconditions#

• The IoT Consumer Definition exists in the system.

Sequence of Steps#

The Clone IoT Consumer Definition wizard can be called from the IoT Consumer Definition page within the Administration Group. The default values will be taken from the current IoT Consumer Definition to be used as a base for the new object.

Step 1: General Data#

1. On the left side panel, add as many rows as desired (each row represents a new IoT Consumer Definition to be created based on the currently selected IoT Consumer Definition) by selecting and specifying the property values for each new instance to be created. You can also provide a name for each of the new instances, however if a Name Generator is configured for the Entity Type, you can leave the field blank and a new name will be automatically generated.
2. Type, Package and PackageVersion can be changed if desired
3. Optionally, enter a comment for the operation.
4. Press Clone to complete the transaction and a new object will be created.
