Asset.Connect

Overview#

This operation is used to connect to an Asset.

Setup#

No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

Preconditions#

• The IoT Data Platform module is properly licensed in the system.
• The Asset exists in the system and is not an Asset Template.

Sequence of Steps#

The Connect Asset wizard can be called from the Asset page within the Data Platform section.

Step 1: General Data#

1. Select the Asset Directory from the dropdown box on the left side of the screen.
2. Select the appropriate Asset from the Asset Directory tree.
3. Press the Connect button on the Asset group located on the top ribbon.
4. Select the Asset Key ID that will be used to connect to this Asset.
5. The Asset Key will be automatically generated. If needed, press the Generate button to force the system to create a new key.
6. Press Update to complete the operation.
