Request for Material Transfer for a Maintenance Activity Order#

Overview#

This operation is used to make a Material Transfer request for a particular Maintenance Activity Order.

Setup#

No special setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

Preconditions#

  • Both the SourceFacility and TargetFacility must exist and be Active and SourceFacility must be different from TargetFacility.
  • The Product referenced in the Material Transfer must be Active and the Material TransferMode must be different from None.
  • The RequestedQuantity can only be decimal if Product IsDiscrete is false.
  • The FromFacility must be defined and it must not be a Remote Facility.
  • If Material Transfer is either InventoryTransfer or Material Transfer, a ToFacility must be defined.
  • If the ToFacility is defined, it must not be a Remote Facility.
  • If the FromStep is defined, it must have the IsMaterial TransferStep set to true.
  • If the ToStep is defined, it must have the IsMaterial TransferStep set to true.
  • If Material Transfer's AllowedPickup is AreaEmployee, the ToArea must be defined.

Sequence of Steps#

To request a Material Transfer for MAO, it is necessary to open an MAO and then select the Material Transfer Request For MAO button to initialize the wizard.

Step 1: Details#

  1. Select a From Facility and optionally, a From Area.
  2. Select the Product (must match a Part in the list of Parts for the MAO) and the Quantity to be requested (it defaults to the quantity of the list of Parts of the MAO).
  3. Select an Urgency (values are taken from the generic table MaterialTransferUrgency). When the urgency is selected, the request delivery date is automatically set, based on the current date and the predefined DefaultDeliveryTime for that Urgency (in minutes).
  4. Optionally, override the request delivery date.
  5. Optionally, enter a comment.
  6. Press Request to complete the transaction.
