Modeling Options#

Depending on what is more convenient, you can create an entire model directly in the Critical Manufacturing MES GUI or using the Master Data Package.

Using the GUI#

This approach is the most standard process to create, manage, and modify MES entities instances. It offers a more interactive and user friendly, allowing you to create the entities directly or clone them from existing ones. However, you will not be able to easily create multiple complex entities directly in the GUI, since this process can be painstakingly long.

Using the Master Data Package#

This approach uses an Excel file following a pre-defined structure that the MES Master Data Package entity can read. You can do a bulk upload into CM MES, but this requires a clear understanding of the sequence/order for creating the entities and entity fields, and how the MES tools interpret the Master Data.
