Close Experiment#

🔒 Experiment.Close

Overview#

This operation is used to close an Experiment.

Setup#

No special setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

Preconditions#

  • The Experiment exists, is Active and is in the system state Completed.

Sequence of Steps#

Step 1#

  1. Select an Experiment. To be able to close it, it needs to be active and in state Completed.
  2. Optionally, edit the Result of the Experiment before closing it. You can choose one of the following Experiment Results:
    • Success
    • Failure
    • Inconclusive
  3. Add a Conclusion of the Experiment (optional).
  4. If necessary, enter a comment (optional).
  5. Once you have finished editing the Experiment results, click on Close. The system will confirm that the Experiment has been closed successfully.

Note

The Experiment closure can also be done automatically if the new Experiment Definition has been configured as "Close Experiment Automatically = true". In this case, after all materials/sub-materials have performed all the actions in all the Steps, the Experiment will be closed automatically. However, it can still be edited before being closed by the system.
