Overview#

This operation is used to create a Facility. A template can also be created using a similar procedure and there is also the possibility of using a template to create the new object as well. This selection can be done in the main entity menu.

Setup#

No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

Preconditions#

  • The Facility does not currently exist in the system.

Sequence of Steps#

Step 1: General Data#

  1. Provide a name for the Facility.
  2. Optionally, provide a description of the Facility.
  3. Select the Facility type. The list of possible values is taken from the lookup table FacilityType.

Step 2: Information#

  1. Select the display order for the Facility in the Manufacturing page view and for reporting sort purposes.
  2. Select the default Calendar for the Facility.
  3. Select a Site for the Facility. If the Site is set as remote, the Remote flag will be activated and inherited by the Facility. A remote Facility represents another Critical Manufacturing instance.
  4. Select whether Materials should be terminated when sent to this Facility. This option is only available for non-remote Facilities.
  5. Press Create to create the Facility.
