Clone Flow#
Flow.Clone
Overview#
This operation is used to clone an existing Flow into a new Flow with a different name and identical characteristics.
Setup#
No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.
Preconditions#
- The Flow exists in the system.
Sequence of Steps#
The Clone Flow wizard can be called from the Flow page within the Business Data Group. The default values will be taken from the current Flow to be used as a base for the new object. Since this is a versioned entity, there are two possible procedures: entity and revision cloning, both of which are available from the main details page. Select the Clone option accessible through the three vertical dots, followed by Flow if you want to clone the complete entity along with the first revision and version of the new entity, or Revision if you want to clone only a single revision. In either case, a Change Set must be supplied for a version of the revision to be made effective in the future.
Step 1: General Data#
- On the left side panel, add as many rows as desired (each row represents a new Flow to be created based on the currently selected Flow) by selecting and specifying the property values for each new instance to be created. You can also provide a name for each of the new instances, however, if a Name Generator is configured for the Entity Type, you can leave the field blank and a new name will be automatically generated. Similarly, you can provide a new revision name or it will be automatically generated for you.
- Optionally, enter a comment for the operation.
- Select Clone to complete the transaction.
Info

Info
When cloning a Flow as an Entity, all associated Future Actions will be copied to the new clone. However, when cloning a Flow Revision, only the Future Actions linked to that specific Revision will be copied to the new clone. For more information on Future Actions, see Manage Future Actions.
