Collapse Material#

🔒 Material.Collapse

Overview#

This operation is used to Collapse Material, which is the reverse operation of Expand Material. It essentially merges Sub-Material(s) back into a Main Material.

Setup#

No special setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

Preconditions#

  • Main Material and Sub-Material are Active, not On Hold and not In Transit.
  • For the Top-Most Material:
    • The Pick List Item Count must be empty.
    • The In Transfer Order Item must be empty.
  • For both the Main Material and the Sub-Material, the Open Defect Count must be zero.
  • The Main Material and Sub-Material Package Count must be empty.
  • To be collapsed, Sub-Material must belong to the same Main Material and must have the same: Facility, Type, and Product.
  • When the collapsed Sub-Material quantity is placed in the same container/position as the Main Material, and the associated Container has Capacity Validation Mode set to Units, it must be ensured:
    • The Capacity Per Position of the Container can hold the Main Material and the additional Sub-Material quantity - whether Primary or Secondary, as defined in the Capacity Units of the Container.
  • If Main Material or Sub-Material are associated with a Production Order, the Production Order must not be Closed.
  • The Main Material and the Sub-Materials must not have any open defects (Open Defect Count is zero).
  • If Top-Most Material Current Assembly Type is Automatic At Track-In, Explicit Add, Explicit Long Running or Packing, the Collapse Material operation is not possible.

Preconditions for Bulk#

  • In addition to the preconditions mentioned above, all Sub-Materials must:
    • Have the same Parent Material.
