Mark Material Defect as Not Fixable#

🔒 MaterialDefect.MarkAsNotFixable

Overview#

This operation is used to classify a specific Material Defect as Not Fixable.

Setup#

No special setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

Preconditions#

  • The Material exists and it is Active.
  • The Material must have open defects (Open Defect Count must be higher than zero).

Sequence of Steps#

  1. Open the Material and navigate to the Defects view.
  2. Select a Material Defect from the Defects panel on the left side of the screen.
  3. Select the Mark as Not Fixable button on the top ribbon.
  4. Provide the required information, based on how the defect is associated:
    • If the defect applies to the Material (Sub-Material is not defined), provide a Scrap Reason and any applicable Loss Classifications, as defined in the Step of the Material. In this case the whole Material will be terminated.
    • If the defect applies to the Sub-Material:
      • If the Sub-Material exists and is Active, provide a Scrap Reason and any applicable Loss Classifications, as defined in the Step of the Sub-Material. In this case, only this Sub-Material will be terminated.
      • If the Sub-Material does not exist in the system, select which Scrap Units the Loss applies to (if the Material has Primary and Secondary Units defined), and provide a Scrap Reason along with any applicable Loss Classifications, as defined in the Step of the Material. In this case, only one unit of the Material is scrapped for either the Primary Quantity or the Secondary Quantity (if they exist).
  5. Verify the information and enter a Closing Remark if needed.
  6. Select the Mark as Not Fixable button to complete the operation.
