Manage Resource Parts#

🔒 Resource.Edit 🔒 Resource.Show

Overview#

This operation is used to manage all the Resource Parts associated to a specific Resource.

Setup#

No setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

Preconditions#

  • The Resource exists and is Active.
  • The Resource has the Defines Resource Parts property enabled.
  • If the Parts are Inserted or Replaced, the Product of the Resource Part must have the Part Type set to Repairable and the Part Quantity must be 1.

Sequence of Steps#

Step 1#

  1. Select an appropriate Resource, navigate to the Parts section, select the Manage button and then choose Parts from the dropdown list.
  2. Add or remove Parts as needed using the button to add or to remove. You can also edit each Part directly.
  3. For each Part, provide:

    • Product - choose a Product of Type Parts.
    • Quantity - choose a quantity. It must be equal or higher than 0, exactly 1 if the Part Type is Repairable, and discrete if the Part Product is marked as discrete.
    • Designator (optional) - if specified, the combination of Product and Designator must be unique within the Resource.

    Warning

The Designator is used to identify the location of duplicated Resource Parts. When a Resource Part Product has duplicates, a Designator must be defined for all associated Resource Parts of that Product.

The Designator may only include letters, digits, underscores (_), dashes (-), and dots (.).

  4. Optionally, enter a Comment.

  5. Select Update to complete the operation.
