Create Asset Directory#

AssetDirectory.Create

Overview#

This operation is used to create an Asset Directory.

Setup#

No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

Preconditions#

• The IoT Data Platform module is properly licensed in the system.

Sequence of Steps#

Step 1: General Data#

1. Navigate to the Data Platform menu and select Asset Directory in the Asset Management section.
2. Select the Create button on the top ribbon.
3. Provide a name for the Asset Directory.
4. Optionally, provide a description of the Asset Directory.

5. Define whether the Asset Directory is a Manufacturing Asset Directory.

   Warning

   There can only be one Manufacturing Asset Directory in the system.

6. Define whether the Asset Directory is the default Asset Directory.

   Note

   If an Asset Directory is set as default, all other Asset Directories in the system will have the same property marked as false.

7. Select Create to complete the operation.
