Edit Asset#

Overview#

This operation is used to edit an Asset.

Setup#

No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

Preconditions#

  • The IoT Data Platform module is properly licensed in the system.
  • The Asset exists in the system.

Sequence of Steps#

The Edit Asset wizard can be called from the Asset Directory page within the Data Platform menu.

Step 1: General Data#

  1. Select the Asset Directory from the dropdown box on the left side of the screen.
  2. Select the appropriate Asset from the Asset Directory tree.
  3. Select the Edit button located on the top ribbon.
  4. The Asset will be put in editing mode and no additional dialog will be displayed. You can edit all available properties displayed in the information panels where the Asset is displayed. After performing the necessary changes, select the Save button located on the top ribbon to complete the operation.

Info

The Name and Class of the Asset cannot be altered. All other non-system properties can be altered.
