Edit IoT Event Definition#

Overview#

This operation is used to Edit a Non-System IoT Event Definition. To change a System IoT Event Definition, see IoT Event Definition Security Permissions.

Setup#

No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

Preconditions#

  • The IoT Event Definition exists in the system.
  • The Owner Type of the IoT Event Definition must be different than System.

Sequence of Steps#

The Edit IoT Event Definition wizard can be called on the top left button from the IoT Event Definition page.

All non-system properties can be changed in this wizard and the Name of the IoT Event Definition cannot be altered.

Warning

The structure of the IoT Event Definition can be freely altered. Nevertheless, this operation must be performed with caution. You must take into consideration that altering the Event structure can impact the current Events already available in the system. It is safe, however, to add new properties.
