Feeder Operations#

The features in this integration are based on the PanaCIM v8831 specification.

Overview#

This feature manages the loading and unloading of consumable feeders and their associated materials into the station position. It operates through a series of event messages, each identified by a unique ID and associated with specific operations. These messages ensure proper synchronization between the station and PanaCIM during material handling.

The fallowing messages describe the ID of the event and the Operations it allows.

How It Works#

  1. Material Setup

    When a feeder with consumables is prepared, the system sends a Material Setup Confirmation message (ID 520) or Material Setup Confirmation using Presetup Station (ID 521). These messages allow the following operations:

    • Attach Material to Consumable Feed: Links the material to the feeder.
    • Add Feeder to Feeder Table: Registers the feeder in the station’s feeder table.
    • Dock Feeder Table to Resource: Confirms the feeder table is connected to the machine resource.

    After MES operations are concluded a Response will be generated.

    • If no error during the process error code 0 will be sent.
    • If any error occurs error code 1 will be sent with respective error message.

    Warning

    With errorCode != 0 PanaCIM will lock the machine with an error message including the errorCode, and the user has to manually release the lock in PanaCIM.

  2. Verification and Information

    Material Verification (ID 530) is acknowledged but not processed; the system always replies with success. Panel Information (ID 560) and Scrap Data (ID 561) are not supported and should remain inactive in PanaCIM.

  3. Feeder Cart Operations

    Feeder Cart Operation (ID 570) manages docking and undocking of feeder tables:

    • Dock Feeder Table to Resource
    • Undock Feeder Table from Resource

    Feeder Cart Association (ID 571) is not supported and should not be activated.

  4. Material State Changes

    Material Attribute and State Change (ID 590) allows detaching consumables from the resource when required. Other related messages (IDs 591, 592) are not supported and should remain inactive.

Warning

Only supported messages should be activated in PanaCIM. Unsupported messages will either return success without action or must remain disabled.

Assumptions#

SmartTable IoTMetadataDefinition is configured, other than the general setup keys (check Setup for more information), with the following entries for each station:
