# Scenario 4: Perform Setup - Instruments Step

Use this scenario to validate **Instruments** before production begins. The **Perform Setup** wizard lets you associate a calibrated **Instrument** with a **Resource** during setup.

1. Go to the **Resource** view of `Measurement Station 01`.
1. Select `PCB-LOT-003` in the dispatch list.
1. Select **Perform** on the ribbon and then select **Perform Setup**.

1. In the **Perform Setup** wizard, select **Instruments** in the left-side panel under **Resource**.
1. Associate `Caliper-001` with `Measurement Station 01`.
1. Confirm that **Maximum Width** and **Thickness** show green checkmarks and `Caliper-001` as the assigned **Instrument**.

    !!! note
        The Instruments step in Perform Setup provides visual confirmation that all measurement parameters have a valid calibrated instrument before production begins.

1. Select `PCB-LOT-003` again in the dispatch list and open **View Setup**.
1. Confirm that `Caliper-001` is associated with `Measurement Station 01` in the **Instruments** section.
