# Configuration

This section covers only the configuration that is specific to **Durables**. Assume the base model, such as **Calendars**, **Facilities**, and **Areas**, already exists.

Use the [Master Data file](masterdata/durables_masterdata.xlsx) to load the model used in this tutorial.

## Configure the Model

1. Define a **Flow** and the **Steps** where the **Durables** are stored.

1. Create **Products** with the type set to **Durable**.

1. Create the durable **Materials** that represent the physical tooling used in production.

1. Create a **BOM** of scope **Durables** and define the required durable **Product**, the attachment position on the **Resource**, and the usage **Step**.

1. Populate the [[materialdurablescontext-st]] **Smart Table** so the system resolves the correct **BOM** for each material context.

1. Define the number of durable positions available on the **Resource**.
