# Edit Automation Driver Definition

## Overview

This operation is used to edit an **Automation Driver Definition**. Because the Automation Driver Definition is a versioned entity, it is only possible to edit while it is in the Created state; when it is active it is mandatory to create a new version instead.

## Setup

No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

## Preconditions

* The **Automation Driver Definition** exists in the system.
* The **Automation Driver Definition** must be in the Created state.

## Sequence of Steps

The Edit Automation Driver Definition wizard can be called from the **Automation Driver Definition** page within the Business Data Group.

### Step 1: Access Edit Function

1. Navigate to the **Automation Driver Definition** page.
2. Click on the **Edit** button to open the edit wizard in a new pop-up window.

### Step 2: Modify Driver Definition Properties

1. Go through all the tab pages in the wizard.
2. Change the information as required for your driver definition.
3. Refer to [[user-guide-automation-driver-definition-create]] for detailed information about each page configuration.

### Step 3: Apply Changes

1. After all changes are made, click the **Edit** button to apply the changes.
2. Verify that the modifications have been saved successfully.
