# Create Automation Manager

## Overview

This operation is used to create a new **Automation Manager**.

## Setup

No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

## Preconditions

* The **Automation Manager** does not currently exist in the system.

## Sequence of Steps

### Step 1: General Data

1. Provide a name for the **Automation Manager**.

    !!! warning
        The **Automation Manager** name should not contain special characters (for example: `<>:"/\|?*`) in order to maximize compatibility.

2. Optionally, provide a description of the **Automation Manager**.
3. Select the **Automation Manager** type. The list of possible values is taken from the lookup table *AutomationManagerType*.
4. Optionally select a Data Group for the **Automation Manager**.
5. Select the Monitor Version to be used by the **Automation Manager**. A list of available monitor versions will be displayed for selection.
6. Select the Manager Version to be used by the **Automation Manager**. A list of available manager versions will be displayed for selection.
7. Define the Automation Manager ID that will be used.
8. Define the Deployment Mode that will be used. A list of available deployment modes will be displayed for selection (Manual and AutomaticDeploy).
