--- alias: user-guide-edit-batch description: "This documentation details editing a batch record, adjusting its properties and materials" --- # Edit Batch :lock: Batch.**Edit** ## Overview This operation is used to Edit a **Batch**. ## Setup No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction. ## Preconditions * The **Batch** exists in the system and is Active. ## Sequence of Steps The Edit Batch wizard can be called from the **Batch** page within the Business Data Group. ### Step 1: General Data In this wizard, you can only edit the description and the priority of the Batch. ![Screenshot showing a wizard with editable fields for "description" and "priority", but not other batch properties.](images/edit_batch.png) ### Step 2: Materials In this wizard, you can add or remove Batch Materials by selecting the :material-plus: or :material-trash-can: icons, respectively. While you cannot remove a Batch Material that has been set as Main Material, you can define another Material as the Main Material. Additionally, if the **Batch** is not in Created state, you will not be able to modify the list of **Materials**, including Main Material, ![edit_Batch Materials](images/edit_batch_materials.png) ### Step 3: Containers In this wizard, you can add or remove Batch Containers by selecting the :material-plus: or :material-trash-can: icons, respectively.
