# Pause Checklist Instance

## Overview

This operation is used to pause the execution of a **Checklist Instance**.

## Setup

No special setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

## Preconditions

* The **Checklist** is Active, Checklist Version is Effective and it is Opened.
* The **Checklist** Execution Mode is Long Running and the Executing State is Executing.
* The **Checklist** is of scope Material Tracking or Maintenance Management.

## Sequence of Steps

1. Select a **Checklist** instance that matches the preconditions
2. Select the **Pause** button on the top ribbon.

3. Specify a **Reason** of type Pause.
4. Optionally, enter a comment for the operation.
5. Select **Pause**.
