--- alias: user-guide-edit-checklist description: "This documentation outlines the steps for modifying a checklist’s attributes within the system" --- # Edit Checklist :lock: Checklist.**Edit** ## Overview This operation is used to Edit a **Checklist**. ## Setup No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction. ## Preconditions * The **Checklist** must exist in the system and be in either a Created or Active state. * When updating the Execution Mode from Long Running to Immediate, there cannot exist any version of the **Checklist** with the Track Execution Time property set to `true`. * When updating the Scope or Execution Mode: * No version of the **Checklist** may reference a **BOM**. * No version of the **Checklist** may have a Material Deviation Protocol defined. * No version of the **Checklist** may reference a **Data Collection**, unless the **Checklist** scope is Material Tracking and remains unchanged. * When updating the Execution Mode and the Scope is Material Tracking: * Updates are not possible from Immediate to Long-Running if there is an Operation column value in the [[materialchecklistcontext-st]] Smart Table different from `TrackIn`, `PerformSetup` or `PerformSetupNoChangeover`. However, updates are possible if there is no reference to an Operation. ## Sequence of Steps The Edit Checklist wizard can be called from the **Checklist** page within the Business Data Group. ### Step 1: General Data All non-system properties can be changed in this wizard.
