# View Data Collection Instance

## Overview

This operation is used to view a **Data Collection Instance**.  

## Setup

No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

## Preconditions

* The **Data Collection Instance** exists in the system.

## Sequence of Steps

The **View Data Collection Instance** wizard can be called from the **Instances** section of the **Data Collection** page within the Business Data Group or through the Step Sample section of the **Inspection Order** page.

There are two tabs that display information on the **Data Collection Instance**, detailed below:

### Data

The data posted for the **Data Collection Instance** can be seen (but not edited) in this tab.

### Context

The context for which the **Data Collection Instance** was created can be reviewed in this tab.

If you select **Close**, you will return to the previous window.
