# Create Facility

## Overview

This operation is used to create a **Facility**. A template can also be created using a similar procedure and there is also the possibility of using a template to create the new object as well. This selection can be done in the main entity menu.

## Setup

No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

## Preconditions

* The **Facility** does not currently exist in the system.

## Sequence of Steps

### Step 1: General Data

1. Provide a name for the **Facility**.
2. Optionally, provide a description of the **Facility**.
3. Select the **Facility** type. The list of possible values is taken from the lookup table *FacilityType*.

### Step 2: Information

1. Select the display order for the **Facility** in the Manufacturing page view and for reporting sort purposes.
2. Select the default **Calendar** for the Facility.
3. Select a **Site** for the **Facility**. If the **Site** is set as remote, the *Remote* flag will be activated and inherited by the **Facility**. A remote **Facility** represents another Critical Manufacturing instance.
4. Select whether **Materials** should be terminated when sent to this **Facility**. This option is only available for non-remote Facilities.
5. Press *Create* to create the **Facility**.
