--- alias: user-guide-join-maintenance-activity-order tags: - maintenance description: "Initiate the process of combining Maintenance Activity Orders with a parent order" --- # Join Maintenance Activity Orders :lock: MaintenanceActivityOrder.**Join** ## Overview This operations is used to join one or more **Maintenance Activity Orders** (**MAOs**) with a Parent **MAO**. When a **MAO** is joined with a Parent, only the Parent needs to be performed. After the Parent is completed, both the Parent and the included **MAO** are scheduled by the system. ## Preconditions * All **MAOs** to be joined (both Parent and Child): * Are Active and in one of these execution states: Requested, Approved or Released. * Belong to the same **Maintenance Plan Instance**. * Have the same schedule type, which must be one of the following: Usage Based, Time Based or Time And Usage Based. * Do not have the Maintenance Type set to Qualification. * The relationship from Parent **MAO** and Children **MAO** exists in the effective **Maintenance Plan**. * The Parent **MAO** must not be already included in another **MAO**. * The user must belong to the **Maintenance Plan Instance** Owner Role. ## Sequence of Steps ### Step 1 1.
