--- alias: user-guide-manage-map-definition-layers tags: - mapping description: "Manage and modify map definition layers, adjusting settings and adding filters" --- # Manage Map Definition Layers :lock: MapDefinition.**Edit** ## Overview This operation is used to set and manage **Map Definition** layers. ## Setup No specific setup is required other than to meet the precondition of the transaction. ## Preconditions * The **Map Definition** exists in the system and it is Active. ## Sequence of Steps ### Step 1: Manage Layers 1. Navigate to the *Layers* section in the Details view of the **Map Definition** page. Press the *Manage* button to open the current **Map Definition** layers. 2. Use the :material-plus: and :material-trash-can: grid buttons to add and remove entries and the :material-arrow-up: and :material-arrow-down: buttons to define the position of the layers, defining for each layer the same settings defined upon its creation, which can be checked here: [Create Map Definition](create_map_definition.md). The user can choose to copy the layer definitions from other Map Definition objects by pressing the ![copy] button and selecting the layers from the desired Map Definition. ![copy_layers_from_map_definition][copy_layers_from_map_definition] ### Step 2: Manage Filters 1. In the second tab of the dialog, it is possible to edit the filters that were defined in the creation of the Map Definition and also adding new ones. Use the :material-plus: and :material-trash-can: grid buttons to add and remove entries, defining for each filter the same settings defined upon its creation, which can be checked here: [Create Map Definition](create_map_definition.md). 2.
