# Change Material Cost

## Overview

This operation is used to change the cost of a **Material**.

## Setup

No special setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

## Preconditions

* **Material** is Active.
* In case the *SubMaterialsDeferredCost* is greater than zero, the new **Material** cost property cannot be less than the *SubMaterialsDeferredCost*.

## Sequence of Steps

### Step 1: Details

This screen captures all the necessary information for the transaction.

1. Verify the **Material** information.  
2. Enter the new cost value.
3. Optionally, enter a comment.
4. Press **Change Cost** to complete the operation.
