--- alias: user-guide-remove-material-from-container description: "This documentation details the process of removing a material from a container" --- # Remove Material from Container :lock: Material.**RemoveFromContainer** ## Overview This operation is used to remove a **Material** from a **Container**. ## Setup No special setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction. ## Preconditions * The **Material** is Active and it is associated with a **Container**. * The **Material** is not In Transit. * The System State of the **Container** is Available. * The Position Unit Type of the **Container** must be **Material**. * The **Material** being removed from the **Container** cannot have the property Resource Association Type set to Related Container. * The **Container** Resource Association Type cannot be Related Material. * If the Top Most **Material** is associated with a **Resource** and its Position Unit Type is **Container**: * The **Container** Resource Association Type must be Related Material. * The **Container** being removed cannot be the last **Container** associated with the **Resource** for any of the Top Most **Materials** associated with the current **Resource** for all the **Materials** contained in the **Container**. ## Sequence of Steps 1. Verify the **Material** and **Container** information. 2. Optionally, enter a comment. 3.
