# Seal Material

## Overview

This operation is used to seal the Floor Life for a **Material**. Once sealed, the Remaining Floor Time remains constant.

## Setup

No special setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the operation.

## Preconditions

* **Material** exists and it is Active.
* The Material Floor Life is not already sealed.
* Material Floor Life Counter State is set to Stopped or Running.
* The Remaining Floor Time field is set in the **Material**.

## Sequence of Steps

### Step 1

1. Verify the **Material** information and select **Seal** to complete the operation.

	To unseal a Material, use the [[user-guide-start-floor-life-counter]] operation.

	If the Step where the Material is currently placed has the Print Material Labels Automatically property set to `true`, that information will be displayed on the bottom section of the wizard.
