# Sign-Off Shift Logbook Entry

## Overview

This operation is used to effectively close a **Shift Logbook**.

## Setup

No special setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

## Preconditions

* The **Shift Logbook** exists, it is *Active* and its system state is *Open*.
* The current date and time is after the end of the *Calendar Day - Shift Definition Shift* end time.

!!! note
	**Note**: Per design, the system is not actively checking that the user signing-off the Shift Logbook belongs to the Area, nor it is checking that the user is currently assigned to work in the next Shift. These validations may be added in the future.

## Sequence of Steps

### Step 1

1. Once the wizard is open, review the entries that have been previously added to the **Shift Logbook**.
2. Optionally, enter a comment.
3. Press **Sign-Off** to complete the transaction.
