--- alias: user-guide-header-index description: "The header manages opened pages, offering customization options and navigation controls" --- # Header The **Header** contains tabs referring to opened pages. ![Screenshot showing a UI element with a context indicating an option to be selected.](../../images/header1.png) For each page you can define **Open on Start-Up** by right-clicking on the corresponding tab and selecting the option: ![header start up](../../images/header_openonstartup.png) This will remember your page and will open it every time you open or refresh the system. This configuration can be disabled by performing the same as above and selecting **Do not Open on Start-Up**: ![header start up](../../images/header_closeonstartup.png) In addition, each of the opened tabs contain a Go Back navigation icon and a Close icon. ![header](../../images/Header.png) When hovering over the tabs, you can navigate between all of those that are opened. You can also drag and drop the tabs to change their position within the header to best suit your needs. On the far right of the header, there is a dropdown menu that opens an index of all opened pages, and allows you to close the opened tabs all at once. In addition, it enables you to perform a search or to return to the home page. ![unfold_menu_button][unfold_menu_button] The Activity Center icon, also on the far right of the header, will display: * [[user-guide-activity-center-my-notifications-page]] * [[user-guide-activity-center-recent-messages-page]] * [[user-guide-activity-center-my-tasks-page]] * [[user-guide-activity-center-bookmarks-page]] * [[user-guide-activity-center-recently-closed-page]] * [[user-guide-activity-center-cortex-page]] ![notifications][notifications] Alongside the Activity Center icon, an icon with the user's credentials will display the user settings when opened, as well as other system options described in [System](system/index.md). In specific occasions, the user settings' menu will display a warning icon. This happens when the employee's clock-in and/or clock-out is required (if defined during the Employee creation). From there, it is possible to perform the [Clock-In Employee](../../../business-data/employee/clock_in_employee.md) and [Clock-Out Employee](../../../business-data/employee/clock_out_employee.md) operations. ![clock_in_warning] Should there be no opened pages, then the header will collapse, and the content area will take its place.
