--- alias: tutorials-carrier-management-scenario-removing-carrier description: "Run the third carrier scenario by removing one carrier at track-out while the other carrier continues with the material." --- # Removing a Carrier This tutorial describes how to remove one of two carriers attached to a **Material**, while the other carrier stays attached and continues with the **Material**. Consider the `Delamination` **Step** at the `SemiFG` **Flow**. ## Preconditions - The `SemiFG.01` material already has two carriers attached: - The SemiFG carrier, attached at the `SemiFGLotCreation` step. - The Frame, attached at the `Lamination` **Step**. - The `SemiFG.01` material has reached the `Delamination` step. - A **Material Carrier Context** entry defines a `Remove` **Operation** for SemiFG Carriers at the `Delamination` **Step**. ![Screenshot showing the Material Carrier Context entry that removes the SemiFG Carrier at the Delamination step.](images/scenario_material_carrier_context.png) - The **Carrier Material Verification Mode** is set to `At Track Out`. ![Screenshot showing the Carrier Material Verification Mode set to At Track Out.](images/scenario3_verification_mode.png) If the operator does not remove the SemiFG carrier from `SemiFG.01` before it tracks out, the system prevents the **Track-Out** action and displays an error indicating that the operator must, first, remove the carrier. ## Sequence of Steps ### 1. Open the `Delamination` step Login to MES and proceed as follows: 1. On the left side menu, select **Business Data**. 2. On the **Business Data** panel, select **Step**. 3. In the search box, type `Delamination`. 4. Select the corresponding step from the search results. ### 2. Remove a carrier 1. On the top ribbon, select the **Step View** tab. 2. On the Materials table, select the `SemiFG.01` checkbox. 3. On the top ribbon, select **More**. 4. On the dropdown menu, select **Manage** from the **Carrier Materials** section. 5. Select the garbage can icon next to the sub-material to remove the carrier. 6. Select the **Save** button to save the change. ![Screenshot showing the Manage Carrier Materials dialog while removing the SemiFG Carriers.](images/scenario3_remove_carrier.png) ## Result After removal, the SemiFG carriers, the operator can track out the `SemiFG.01` material. The the carriers change to `Queued` state and the operator can reuse them in another step. ![Screenshot showing the CarrierStorage step with the detached SemiFG Carriers back in the Queued state.](images/scenario3_carrier_storage_queued.png) The second carrier remains attached and continues with the material to `SemiFGStorage`. ![Screenshot showing the Carriers tab with only the Frames still attached to each sub-material.](images/scenario3_frame_still_attached.png) Next scenario: [[tutorials-carrier-management-scenario-assembling-material]]
