--- entityname: Change Package alias: user-guide-verify-change-package description: "Verify Change Package integrity and correct invalid items, references, and table rows" --- # Verify Change Package :lock: ChangePackage.**Verify** :lock: ChangePackage.**Correct** ## Overview The **Verify** operation is used to check the integrity of a **Change Package**. The operation confirms that the selected objects still exist and that their references are valid. When a **Change Package** is sent for approval, the system runs **Verify**. If verification reports errors, the approval request is aborted. **Verify** and **Correct** both check [[user-guide-generic-tables-index|Generic Table]] and [[user-guide-smart-tables-index|Smart Table]] row items according to a **Table Verification Mode**: * **Check Nothing** - The system only verifies whether the table and the row still exist, using the row ID property. This is the default mode. * **Check Change Package References** - In addition to the **Check Nothing** verification, the system verifies whether any column of a row references an entity that is not included in the current **Change Package**. A row is considered invalid if it references an entity outside the **Change Package**. !!! info When called through the API without an explicit Table Verification Mode, the system uses the default value configured for the `ChangePackage.Verify` context and the `TablesVerificationMode` element. If no default is configured, the system uses Check Nothing. ## Setup No specific setup is required other than meeting the preconditions of the operation. ## Preconditions * The **Change Package** exists and is not Terminated. ## Sequence of Steps ### Step 1: Verify a Change Package 1. Open the **Change Package** that you want to verify. 2. Navigate to the Contents tab and select **Verify** from the action bar. ![Screenshot showing the "Verify" option in the action bar of the Contents tab.](images/verify_correct_change_package.png) 3. In the **Verify Change Package** wizard, select the **Table Verification Mode**: * **Check Nothing** * **Check Change Package References** ![Screenshot of the Verify Change Package wizard with the Table Verification Mode options.](images/verify_change_package_wizard.png) 4. Select **Verify**. 5. Review the verification result. If verification reports errors, the system displays the number of root errors and dependency impacts found during verification. If verification completes without errors, the **Change Package** can proceed to approval and publication. ### Step 2: Correct Invalid Items If the **Verify** operation reports errors, use **Correct** to remove invalid items and their dependent branches. !!! warning When you correct a Change Package, all invalid items are removed permanently. This action cannot be undone. 1. Review the verification errors. 2. Select **Correct** from the action bar. ![Screenshot showing the "Correct" option in the action bar of the Contents tab.](images/verify_correct_change_package.png) 3. In the **Correct Change Package** wizard, select the **Table Verification Mode**: * **Check Nothing** * **Check Change Package References** ![Screenshot of the Correct Change Package wizard with the Table Verification Mode options.](images/correct_change_package_wizard.png) 4. Select **Correct**. 5. Review the correction results. When you select **Correct**, the system removes unavailable objects and invalid table rows identified during verification from the **Change Package**. It also removes dependent branches recursively. For example, if `Flow A` no longer exists, the **Correct** operation removes `Flow A` and all objects that depend on it. !!! note Correct is only available while the Change Package version is in the `Created` state. ### Results * **Verify** - Confirms whether the **Change Package** contains invalid objects, references, or table rows, according to the selected **Table Verification Mode**. It does not change the package contents. * **Correct** - Removes invalid items and table rows, together with their dependent branches, from the **Change Package**, according to the selected **Table Verification Mode**. For information about adding package contents, see [[user-guide-manage-change-package-items]].
