Accessing the Configuration Automation Manager can be done by selecting the **Configuration** button on the top ribbon. A dialog will open with a text editor with syntax highlighting for JSON that will allow the user to perform the necessary changes directly in the configuration settings. 1. Optionally, the user can save the current editor buffer as a template by selecting the Set Configuration as Template button. This template can be reloaded at a future time by selecting the Reload Template Configuration. !!! warning Saving a new template will overwrite the existing template in the configuration entry `/Cmf/System/Configuration/ConnectIoT/ConfigurationTemplate`. If the user reloads the configuration from the template, the current value of this configuration field will be used. 1. Select **Save and Close** to complete the transaction and the new settings will be saved. ![Screenshot showing the Automation Manager Configuration page with a highlighted "Save and Close" button.](images/configure_automation_manager.png) !!! info For more information, see [[installation-guide-connectiotautomationmanagerconfig]]. ## Validation and Intellisense The configuration editor validates the JSON content against the **Automation Manager Configuration** schema as you type, providing inline markers, hover descriptions, and auto-completion (`Ctrl+Space`). Loggers and transports each have their own settings - the schema describes the keys and combinations supported by each one. Some configuration entries are filled automatically by the system when omitted; the schema notes for each of those describe what happens when you provide a value explicitly. For more information, see [[user-guide-automation-json-schema-validation-in-editors]].
