# Terminate Change Set

## Overview

This operation is used to terminate a **Change Set** object.

## Setup

No specific setup is required beyond meeting the transaction preconditions.

## Preconditions

* The **Change Set** exists in the system and is in the Active or Created state.

## Sequence of Steps

The Terminate Change Set wizard can be called from the **Change Set** page within the Business Data Group.

### Step 1: General Data

1. Select **Terminate** to perform the operation. All generic/smart table rows that reference the current object will be removed.

!!! warning
    Change Set objects cannot be unterminated. If you terminate a Change Set object, it will be permanently lost.

    When terminating a Change Set, references within its Change Set Items are not validated. Therefore, termination can proceed even if a referenced object is no longer available in its current effective version.
