# Manage Carrier Material

## Overview

Associate a **Carrier** to a **Material**.

## Preconditions

* A **Material** exists for a product of type **Carrier**.
* If the **Carrier Material** is not sharable, another **Material** must not already use it.
* [[materialcarriercontext-st]] Smart Table contains the proper context rule.

## Sequence Of Steps

### Step 1: Open the Manage Carrier Materials wizard

1. Select a **Material**. For example, `Cookie01`.
2. In the top ribbon, select **More**.
3. Under **Carrier Materials**, select **Manage**.

### Step 2: Associate the Material to a Carrier

1. Select the **Carrier Material** to associate with the **Material**. For example, `Baking Tray 01`.
2. Optionally, enter a comment.

3. Select **Save**.

### Step 3: View associated Carriers for the Material

1. In the Material Page Details View, select **Carriers**.
