# Cancel Task

## Overview

This operation is used to to cancel a **Task**. A **Task** can only be canceled by the Requester of the **Task**. The [[user-guide-special-cancel-task]] can be used to cancel a **Task** even if the user is not the Requester.

## Setup

No special setup is required other than to meet the preconditions.

## Preconditions

* The **Task** must be Active.
* The current user must be the Requester of the **Task**.

## Sequence of Steps

### Step 1

1. Review the **Task** information.
2. Press the **Cancel Task** button to complete the operation.
