# Appearance

The **Appearance** tab lets you configure visual options for your user session.

## Theme

The **Theme** section lets you select the GUI theme that best suits your needs. You can change between the Light and Dark theme.

## Environment Identification

The **Environment Identification** section lets you control how the active environment is identified in the interface.

* **Display Environment Name** - shows the environment name in the menu bar footer. This option is enabled by default.
* **Display Visual Marker** - shows a banner at the top of the workbench. This option is disabled by default.

When **Display Visual Marker** is enabled, configure the following fields:

* **Color** - defines the banner background color.
* **Name** - defines the text displayed in the banner. When this field has a value, the menu bar footer also uses it as the environment name.

    Choose a banner color that keeps the default black marker text readable.

After you save changes to the environment identification options, confirm the page reload to apply the updated display.
