Other Requirements#
Authentication#
You need to decide how your users shall authenticate in the system. Critical Manufacturing MES supports:
- Active Directory
- Single Sign-On (Open ID Connect)
- Local Users (account credentials stored on MES database).
Each enabled strategy will require distinct requirements. Check Critical DevOps Center and Operations ⧉ guides for additional details about their requirements and setup.
SAP Integration#
If you intend to generate SAP interface code or proxies based on the Critical Manufacturing MES ERP module, then you must acquire an ERPConnect license from Theobald Software ⧉.
HTTPS#
To enable HTTPS, you will need to provide SSL certificate information during DevOps Center new environment configuration.
Note
Although is not mandatory, it is highly recommended to use HTTPS. Some features that require access to device peripherals (Augmented Reality, Clipboard) may not work when running on an insecure connection.
GenAI Providers#
The Generative AI Provider defines which external service is used to deliver Generative AI capabilities. Before enabling Generative AI features, ensure that the selected provider is correctly configured in your environment.
For more information, see the Package Configuration section.
LibreChat and Model ID Compatibility#
Critical Manufacturing MES delivers Generative AI capabilities through LibreChat, a component of the Generative AI Infrastructure. The Generative AI Infrastructure is available from MES version 11.2.0 onward. The LibreChat container image version and the available Generative AI Providers depend on the MES version, as described below. To check this information for another MES version, switch to the documentation of that version.
The Model IDs available in the system are defined during the environment installation, in the Models field of the GenAI package configuration. LibreChat does not restrict the Model IDs you can enter, so you can use any Model ID that your provider account supports.
The Generative AI Infrastructure of this MES version deploys the LibreChat container image version 1.0.5-beta, based on LibreChat 0.8.6. The available Generative AI Providers are Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Google, and OpenAI.
The default Model IDs shipped with this MES version are stored in the configuration variable of each provider. Variables exposed as container environment variables are documented in the Environment Variables reference of the Operation Guide.

Table: Generative AI Providers and Model IDs
The Model IDs known to LibreChat are defined in the LibreChat 0.8.6 model configuration ⧉. Models released after this LibreChat version may not be recognized natively.
Verify Model Availability
Model availability depends on your provider account, region, and subscription, and providers retire models over time. Confirm with your provider that each Model ID you configure is available.
After installation, you can define which model each prompt uses through the Model field of the GenerativeAIPrompt Smart Table.
