# Transitioning from Dispatching to Scheduling

To activate the scheduling functionality, switch the Resource's property *Dispatch Scheduling Type* property from dispatching to scheduling:

This change has some immediate effects on the system:

1. The Resources start being considered for operational Scheduling Scenarios, which can then be released, presenting the production sequence as a suggestion sequence to the Resource.
2. *Dispatching* continues to be an option for this Resource: the dispatch order is presented by the scheduling allocations.
3. *Track-in* can be done in the sequence given by the Schedule or through regular dispatching.
