# Pause & Resume a Checklist Instance

For **Long Running Material Tracking Checklists**, the **Pause** and **Resume** functionalities help maintain accurate time tracking. This prevents incorrect durations from being reported in **Checklist** instance records.

To pause the **Checklist**, select the **Pause** button on the top ribbon and specify a **Pause Reason**. For more details, see [[user-guide-pause-checklist-instance]].

When ready to continue, select the **Resume** button on the top ribbon. For more information, see [[user-guide-resume-checklist-instance]].
