Clone Event Rule#

EventRule.Clone

Overview#

This operation is used to clone an existing Event Rule into a new Event Rule with a different name and identical characteristics.

Setup#

No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

Preconditions#

• The Alarm Management module is properly licensed in the system.
• The Event Rule exists in the system.

Sequence of Steps#

The Clone Event Rule wizard is called from the Event Rule page within the Administration Group. The default values are taken from the current Event Rule and used as a base for the new object.

Step 1: Details#

1. On the left side panel, add as many rows as needed (each row represents a new Event Rule to be created based on the currently selected Event Rule) by selecting and specifying the property values for each new instance to be created. You can also provide a name for each of the new instances. However, if a Name Generator is configured for the Entity Type, you can leave the field blank and a new name will be automatically generated.
2. Enter a comment for the operation.
3. Select Clone to complete the transaction and a new object will be created.
