Clone Chart#

🔒 Chart.Clone

Overview#

This operation is used to Clone an existing Chart into a new one with a different Name, but with identical characteristics.

Setup#

No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

Preconditions#

  • The Chart exists in the system.

Sequence of Steps#

The Clone Chart wizard can be called from the Chart page by selecting More on the top ribbon, followed by Clone. The default values will be taken from the current Chart and will be used as a base for the new object.

Step 1: General Data#

  1. On the left panel, add as many rows as needed (each row represents a new Chart to be created based on the currently selected Chart) by selecting and specifying the property values for each new instance you create. You can also provide a Name for each of the new instances, however, if a Name Generator is configured for the Entity Type, a new name will be automatically generated.
  2. For each new instance you create, specify:
  3. The parameter for the chart.
  4. The type.
  5. The description.
  6. The default lower specification limit value.
  7. The default target specification limit value.
  8. The default upper specification limit value.
  9. The default centerline 1 value (the meaning depends on the type of the Chart).
  10. The default centerline 2 value (the meaning depends on the type of the Chart) which is applicable to variable Charts only.
  11. The default standard deviation value.
  12. Optionally, enter a comment.
  13. Select Clone to complete the transaction and a new object will be created.
