# Unassign Certification from Employee

:lock: Certification.**UnassignEmployees**

## Overview

This operation is used to disassociate one or more **Certifications** from an **Employee**, causing the **Employee**(s) to no longer possess the **Certification** and should no longer obtain this **Certification**.

## Preconditions

* The **Certification** to be unassigned exists and it is Active.
* The current user must belong to the Owner Role of the **Certification**.
* The user can only unassign **Employees** from **Certification** records for which the Grant Type is either Null or Manual.

## Sequence of Steps

To unassign one or more **Certifications** from the **Employee**, open the page of the **Employee**, navigate to the **Certifications** section, select the **Certifications** to be unassigned and select the **Unassign** button.

### Step 1: Details

1. Confirm the **Certifications** that should be unassigned from the **Employee**.
2. Select **Unassign** to complete the operation.
