Associate Maintenance Plan With Resource#

Overview#

The Associate Maintenance Plan with Resource operation associates one or more Resources with a particular Maintenance Plan.

Setup#

No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

Preconditions#

  • Resource is Active and has no other identical Maintenance Plan currently associated with it.

  • Maintenance Plan has an Effective version.

Sequence of Steps#

The Associate Maintenance Plan with Resource wizard can be called from the Maintenance Plan page within the Business Data Group.

A Resource can also be associated with a Maintenance Plan directly from the Resource page Maintenance View.

Step 1: Resources#

  1. Press the Associate button and from the dropdown options select Resource to open the appropriate wizard.
  2. Select the Resource to which the Maintenance Plan will be associated.
  3. Select the appropriate Base Date to set the date when the Maintenance Plan will start.
  4. Select the appropriate Schedule Mode (Earliest or Latest).
  5. If wished, apply the current definition to all the selected Resources by pressing the Apply Same Date To All Resources button
  6. Select Next.

Step 2: Activities#

  1. If wished, specify customized the Base Date and Schedule Mode for any of the Maintenance Activities that belong to the Maintenance Plan.

Step 3: General Data#

  1. Select the owner role - the owner role represents the group of people who is able to manage the Maintenance Activity Orders under the Maintenance Plan Instance.
  2. Optionally specify a distribution list - to be used by the SendMaintenanceManagementNotificationMail rule.
  3. Press Associate to perform the operation.

It is possible to define the default value for the Schedule Mode by editing the entry Context = MaintenancePlan.Associate, Element = ScheduleMode in the Generic Table GUIElementDefaultValue. The default value is Earliest.
