Set Maintenance Plan Effective#

MaintenancePlan.SetEffective

Overview#

Setting a Maintenance Plan Version effective has an impact on the Maintenance Plan Instances that refer to this plan. Specifically, for all existing instances:

• New activities will be scheduled
• Existing activities will be kept or re-scheduled (as specified by the user)
• Removed activities which are not InProgress or WaitingForAcceptance will be terminated

Setup#

No specific setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

Preconditions#

• Maintenance Plan version is not the current Effective version.

Sequence of Steps#

To set a new new version effective, it's necessary to select Set Effective in the top ribbon and complete the Wizard as described below:

Step 1: General Data#

1. The Wizard will present the list of Maintenance Activities included in the current Maintenance Plan version and for each activity it will be indicated the relative inclusion status of the activity when compared to the effective version. This status can be one of three:

3. Kept
4. Removed

1. The user can choose to reschedule existing activities which are kept - note that in this case, all the kept activities which are not InProgress or WaitingForAcceptance will be re-scheduled with the respective timers and counters reset.
2. Optionally enter a comment.
3. Select Set Effective to complete the operation.
