# Unlink Map from Material

## Overview

This operation is used to unlink a *Map* from a **Material**.

## Setup

No setup is required other than to meet the preconditions of the transaction.

## Preconditions

* The **Map** and the **Material** exist and are active.
* The *Map* to be removed is associated with the **Material**.
* If the *Map* being unlinked is the current **Material** *Master Map*, no other **Material** *Maps* must be associated. The **Material** *Master Map* must be the last *Map* to be removed from the **Material**.

## Sequence of Steps

### From the **Map** perspective

1. Select the **Map** from which you wish to unlink the *Material*.
2. Click **Unlink**.
3. Verify the **Material** information.
4. Optionally, enter a comment.
5. Press **Unlink**to complete the transaction.

### From the **Material** perspective

1. The existing linked **Maps** will be listed under *Linked Maps*.
2. Click the **Unlink** button on the ribbon.
3. Once the wizard is open, select the map(s) you wish to unlink from the **Material** by checking the respective checkbox(es).
4. Optionally, enter a comment.
5. Press **Unlink** to complete the operation.
