--- alias: material-page description: "This documentation page details a system interface for managing material information, including related data and processes" --- # Material Page :lock: Material.**Show** The **Material** page displays general information on the specific **Material**. In addition it enables you to perform all the operations that can be performed on a specific **Material**. ## Details View Depending on the optional modules that are licensed in the system, the **Details** view will display some or all of the following page sections: * **Details** - displays general information on the **Material**. * **Sub-Materials** - if the current **Material** has **Sub-Materials**, their detailed information will be displayed here. * **Packages** - displays general information on the **Packages**. * **Holds/Off-Flows/Reworks** - displays information on the existing **Material** holds, off-flows and reworks. * **Defects** - displays information on defects recorded for the **Material**. * **Time Constraints** - shows the time based limitations of a **Material**. * **Characteristics** - allows you to change the characteristics of a **Material**. * **Dependencies** - enables you to visualize the relation between a certain **Material** and its predecessors (components). * **Future Actions** - enables you to visualize the future actions that are planned for the **Material**. * **Protocols** - shows any existing **Protocols** that might have been previously created for the **Resource**. * **Experiments** - displays active **Experiments** associated with the **Material**. Terminated **Experiments** are not listed in this section. * **Transfer Requirements** - enables you to visualize and/or create any **Transfer Requirements** for the **Material**. * **Costing** - enables the visualization of **Material Standard Costs** previously entered by you (only if the Costing module is properly licensed in the system). * **Notifications** - shows any existing Notification created for the **Material** (only if the notifications optional module is properly licensed in the system). * **Scheduling** - displays information on the **Scheduling** and **Planning** of the **Material** and allows you to manage them (only if the Scheduling module is properly licensed in the system). * **Maps** - provides you with information related to the **Maps** that are linked to the **Material**. * **Collected Data** - enables the visualization of existing **Data Collection**. * **Attributes** - enables the visualization of existing **Attributes** and the possibility to create new ones. For more information on **Attributes**, visit the section [[attributes-section]]. * **Attachments** - shows the documents that are attached to the **Material**. ![Screenshot showing attachments in the Details View.](images/details_view.png) ### Pop-over Messages The **Materials** on the list will sometimes be accompanied by badges to illustrate different underlying **Material** circumstances; for example, if a **Material** is In Process and a Checklist for Track-Out has been previously associated to the **Material**, a badge will be displayed next to the **Material**, in order to indicate that the **Material** has a Checklist (long running) that needs to be completed before the Track-Out operation takes place. When a **Material** awaits an **Experiment**, a lock badge will appear next to its name. If you select it, a pop-over message is displayed, as shown in the image below. ![Screenshot showing a pop-over message with details about a locked Material awaiting an Experiment.](images/experiment_lock_badge_material_details.png) ## Container View If the **Material** is stored in a **Container**, a top-down view of the **Container** is made available to you, displaying all the storage positions of the **Container**, including information on the stored **Material** as well as any stored **Sub-Materials** on each position. You can zoom and drag the visualization and select each of the positions that are shown in grid form, with the pertinent information being displayed on the right-hand panel. !!! info You can export the current view to a separate image file to be downloaded as a screenshot. ![Container view of the Material page](images/material_container_view.png) ## Traceability View The Traceability view displays a quick overview of the history of the **Material**, with the **Flow** and respective **Steps**, together with a slew of information that when present will be divided into several different panels: * General Data * **Resource** where the **Material** was processed or stored !!! note By selecting :material-eye: in the Recipe column you can view the recipe parameter details of that Resource, including overriden parameters. * **Data Collections** performed on the **Material** * **Checklists** performed on the **Material** * **BOM** used * **Recipes** used and details on their parameters * Operations performed on the **Material** Filters can be applied to display only a subset of the entities of the **Material** history. The entities to filter are: * **Resource** * **BOM** * **Recipe** * **DataCollection** * **Checklist** * **Maintenance Plan** ![Screenshot showing the Material Traceability View in the context of a maintenance plan.](images/material_traceability_view.png) ## Defects View The Defects view displays information on product defects and their details. On this page you are able to record and perform operations on the defects. ![Screenshot showing a Material Defects View.](images/material_defects_view.png) ## Genealogy View The Genealogy view displays information on the Ascendants and Descendants (Parent, Main, and Child Materials) of the **Material**. ![Screenshot showing a genealogy view with various data fields and controls.](images/material_genealogy_view.png) ## Line Flow View The Line Flow view displays a quick overview of the context of the **Material** that is currently being processed in a **Step** belonging to a Line Flow. Information is split on several panels: * General Data * **Resources** * Durables * **BOM** * **Recipes** ![Screenshot showing a Line Flow View diagram illustrating the relationship between recipes.](images/material_lineflow_view.png) ## Maintenance View The Maintenance view displays information on the **Materials'** scheduled **Maintenance Activity Orders**. These **Maintenance Activity Orders** can be viewed in both calendar or list formats, enabling you to navigate through different dates and to apply different filters to visualize orders by Week, Month or Day. In this view, it is also possible to filter **Maintenance Activity Orders** by their name, Entity's name, or their system state. ## Compare View :lock: Material.**Compare** This view provides a quick visual comparison between the selected entity version and any other version that can be selected through it. You can also export the comparison results to a PDF file through the **Export Comparison** button on the top ribbon. For more information, see [[compare-entity-versions]]. ![Material Compare view](images/material_compare_view.png) ## References View This view combines information concerning other objects that have references to the current object: * **Relations** - displays the existing **Relations** between the **Material** and other entities and enables you to edit them. For more information on **Relations**, visit the section [[relations-section]]. * **Where Used** - displays the set of relationships between the **Material** and the other objects used throughout the system. ## History View This view combines information concerning other objects that have references to the current **Material** object: * **History** - displays the history of the operations, associated information, user(s) performing the changes and date and time of the changes.
