The system must ensure the following: * The **Package** is not contained in another **Package** - the Parent Package is empty. * If **Package** Content Type is Package: * The **Package** is either empty (Sub-Package Count greater than zero) or in its hierarchy (only for Active Packages) it only contains a Single Material. * If **Package** Content Type is different from Package: * The **Package** Packed Quantity Units must match the current **Material** Primary Units. * If the **Material** has a Current **BOM** associated of type Packing: * The **Package** Packed Quantity Units must match the **Material** Current **BOM** Units. * The **Package** Total Packed Quantity must be less than or equal to the **Material** Assembled Quantity. ## Sequence of Steps The Terminate Package wizard can be called from the **Package** page within the Business Data Group. ### Step 1: General Data 1. In the **More** button on the top ribbon, select **Terminate** to perform the operation. All generic/smart table rows that reference the current object will be removed and will not be recovered if the object is unterminated at a later point. 2. If the **Package** Content Type is different from Package or equal to Package, and Sub-Package Count is greater than zero: * You must provide a valid Loss **Reason** applicable to Terminate that is associated to the current Package Material Step. * If the **Step** defines Loss Classifications, you must supply the Loss Classifications. * You can specify that the **Material** should be terminated if it has no **Sub-Materials** and Primary and Secondary Quantity reach zero. ![Screenshot showing a termination process for a material with no sub-materials and zero primary and secondary quantities.](images/package_terminate.png) !!! info For more information, see [Terminate and Unterminate](../../general/terminate_and_unterminate.md).
